The Parisian Isle's; My Favorite Destination

It's starting to get cold out there Fashionistas, and you know what that means;
Over-sized Faux Fur Coats, cute knit hats and infinity scarves.
But don't you worry! Just because outside is cold and snowy, doesn't mean your room has to be too!

Introducing My Parisian Isles Collections. Available in three beautifully tropical colors, these collections are guaranteed to brighten anyone's Winter Cave.

They're so rich, warm and bright! I just love this Collection. And because of the amazing Damask Pattern, it's very similar to the He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not Collections we used to carry. Plus, you can match these colors with almost anything and you will still get the sexy, yet fun look that everyone is trying to achieve!

Be sure to check out Our Parisian Isles Collections and prepare your little island getaway before the snow sets in!

Until next time lovelies-

Available: Parisian Room for Rent

So one of my Team Members, Judy, and I were talking one day about which one of our fabulous Collections she absolutely loves, and she actually blew me away with her response.

"I just love the Room For Rent Collection. It's just beautiful, feminine, and it's perfect for any age."

I mean, she's totally right. The Room for Rent Collection is a classic, and has been one of my favorites too for such a long time. With it's beautiful velvety flocked floral print, raised against a white iridescent taffeta, it's simple, yet elegant and beyond beautiful. I call it a Cinderella Collection!

Room For Rent Collection

As you can tell, I love to pair this Collection with bright candy pinks and rich black satins and velvets. It's an amazing contrast and it is what gives this bedding it's pop.  Today, I'm going to tell you how to achieve the Cinderella-esque look and feel of our Room for Rent Collection for your room, with some easy steps!

Paint Colors:

Benjamin Moore: Pretty Pink (2077-50)
or for a richer pink : Spring Azalea (2077-40)
And Jet Black (2120-10)

Now, if you're wanting an almost exact look of the room scene above, all you need to do is paint one wall black. This will serve as your accent wall and will be the wall the headboard will be against. Then, you leave the rest of the room white, using the pinks as accent colors for shelves, picture frames, and mirrors. I would keep the furniture a crisp white, and have a mid-century flare to it. It keeps a clean and sophisticated feel to the room.

Pink and Black Stripe Walls(picture this with brighter pink)
Or, you can also paint the walls using stripes, either vertically(as shown above), or horizontally. Pink and Black stripes for the Daring Diva, Pink and White stripes for the Feminine Fashionsita, and White and Black stripes for the Classic Cutie. Any way you choose would work wonders for this room!

Bedroom Accessories:

Now for the bedroom accessories. It's probably a little obvious by now, that my team and I have this love affair with Mid-Century furniture and accessories. We absolutely love the baroque patterns and scroll work carvings of that beautiful era. So I suggest using these accessories in this room, to complete the sophisticated style that we're trying to achieve.

Frankie's Room Remixx 2012- Boutique
Use mirrored vanities for the dressers, which you can find at places like Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Pier 1 Imports, and even Target (If you catch them on a good day)! You can also find amazing armoires at these stores as well, or even at a second hand store, and turn them into the perfect display case for your shoes, make up, jewelry or even books! I have my extravagant collection of heels on display right now in my little armoire, which I found second hand! With a little paint and some new glass shelves, I turned it into the perfect little display case that fits well with almost any room!

Then, try and find baroque style pictures frames. We just received these adorable Le Petite Baroque Picture Frames, they are smaller sure, but just the perfect accent pieces for any room. Use canvas wall art, and frame a picture of your favorite 1950's actress, we suggest Audrey or Marylin, in an amazingly elaborate baroque picture frame that you can find at either Micheal's or Hobby Lobby.

Furniture:

When it comes to your bedroom furniture, it's totally okay if you're on a budget and can't buy new furniture. All you need to do is paint. When in doubt, always paint. And if you want your old headboard to turn into something fabulous and new, buy some fabric that matches the decor and that you absolutely love, and use that to re-upholster a drab headboard. Be creative!

If you are blessed enough to be able to purchase a completely new bedroom set, then remember baroque/mid-century style!

Bedding and Linens:

Now, after all of the painting, and remodeling, and rearranging of your room, it's come time to hang the window panels and remake the bed, to complete your fabulous new Wake Up Frankie Room Make-Over!

And there you have it lovelies... Your new bedroom that's fit for any Parisian Princess! Until next time!

The Damsel is Baroque

Hey there my Frankie Fashionista's!

Last night, I was trying to figure out what exactly I wanted to do my first decorating blog on, and it occurred to me; my 'The Damsel is Baroque' Collection is the perfect Collection to start with! Beautiful, fun, classic, and a total Autumn Collection, it screams Wake Up Frankie.

So today I am going to use this wonderful Baroque Masterpiece as inspiration, and show you lovelies how to turn your room into the perfect combination of modern and mid-century!

Let's start with those walls...

Benjamin Moore Studio Finishes Metallic Glaze
The First thing you have to do with any room makeover, after figuring out which way you're going with the decor, is to nail down the paint colors you will be using. For this particular Collection, you normally go with a gold color, or you can go with a Metallic Paint to give the room a wonderful shimmer.  I've chosen Benjamin Moore Collection: Stuart Gold HC-10 which is a plain gold color that coordinates very well with my Collection, or you can go with Benjamin Moore Studio Finishes Metallic Glaze (620). The Metallic Glaze is a bit heavier and a little darker, but will bring out the shimmer in the bedding itself.

After you choose your paint colors, you will then need to figure out how you want to paint the room itself. Now, personally, I love a clean, glamorous look for a bedroom. I mean look at my last two room makeovers, but this is all personally preference. However, if I was going to personally re-do my room with this wonderful Collection, I would use the Metallic Glaze for stenciling, and accent work, and keep my walls white. If the Metallic Glaze is too much, you can do this same thing with the Stuart Gold Color we had picked out.

Try to find stencils that match the collection, such as music notes, or floral patterns. You can even find different phrases and sayings in stencil form on websites such as www.tradingphrases.com
www.walltowallstencils.com. Certain websites will actually allow you to create your own!  Once you find a few stencils you think are perfect, be sure to use which ever gold you chose as your accent colors, and apply them to your walls. Always use one wall as an accent wall/focal point, and I would use that wall as the host of your wonderfully creative stencil!

Now for accessories...

Because the look we're ultimately trying to achieve is clean, you'll want to keep the walls white, or an off white, and use the gold for all your accessories. Hang small shelves on one wall to place your books and nick-knacks on and paint them the gold color you used on your walls, and paint your picture frames the same color gold! You are almost always going to find something that is just perfect, but the wrong color. So there is no need to panic, just re-paint it!
Edgar Berebi Decorative 1 3/8" Waldorf Knob with Swarovski Crystal in Museum Gold

Remember the glass vanity in my bedroom, and how I've changed the knobs on that vanity to match my bedroom decor each time I do a room make-over? It's super simple and easy to do. You can find cute drawer knobs at almost any home decor website, or department store!

As for lighting, I am a huge fan of Chandeliers. It is my belief that every woman needs a chandelier in ever room in her house. In fact, two Chandeliers per room if space allows. So It's no surprise that I'd go with Wake Up Frankie's Small Antique White Rose Beaded Chandelier as a perfect fit for this classic yet glamorous room.

If you're wanting something a little more simple, you can always go with our Shades of Rose Accent Lamps, or our 5 Tealight Beaded Chandelier. Either of these would be a fabulous alternative accent piece with this collection and give you a nice cross lighting effect.

Use our White Bouquet Window Panels together with our Gold Organza Window Panels, and tie them back with a large, gold satin ribbon, or even a large gold fabric rope, and voila!

Last but certainly not least...

The amazing bedding. Golds, Whites, and leopard prints, tie this room together perfectly.
There you have it, a simple yet fabulous room makeover, that is perfect for any age!

'Til next time lovelies!
