Available: Parisian Room for Rent

So one of my Team Members, Judy, and I were talking one day about which one of our fabulous Collections she absolutely loves, and she actually blew me away with her response.

"I just love the Room For Rent Collection. It's just beautiful, feminine, and it's perfect for any age."

I mean, she's totally right. The Room for Rent Collection is a classic, and has been one of my favorites too for such a long time. With it's beautiful velvety flocked floral print, raised against a white iridescent taffeta, it's simple, yet elegant and beyond beautiful. I call it a Cinderella Collection!

Room For Rent Collection

As you can tell, I love to pair this Collection with bright candy pinks and rich black satins and velvets. It's an amazing contrast and it is what gives this bedding it's pop.  Today, I'm going to tell you how to achieve the Cinderella-esque look and feel of our Room for Rent Collection for your room, with some easy steps!

Paint Colors:

Benjamin Moore: Pretty Pink (2077-50)
or for a richer pink : Spring Azalea (2077-40)
And Jet Black (2120-10)

Now, if you're wanting an almost exact look of the room scene above, all you need to do is paint one wall black. This will serve as your accent wall and will be the wall the headboard will be against. Then, you leave the rest of the room white, using the pinks as accent colors for shelves, picture frames, and mirrors. I would keep the furniture a crisp white, and have a mid-century flare to it. It keeps a clean and sophisticated feel to the room.

Pink and Black Stripe Walls(picture this with brighter pink)
Or, you can also paint the walls using stripes, either vertically(as shown above), or horizontally. Pink and Black stripes for the Daring Diva, Pink and White stripes for the Feminine Fashionsita, and White and Black stripes for the Classic Cutie. Any way you choose would work wonders for this room!

Bedroom Accessories:

Now for the bedroom accessories. It's probably a little obvious by now, that my team and I have this love affair with Mid-Century furniture and accessories. We absolutely love the baroque patterns and scroll work carvings of that beautiful era. So I suggest using these accessories in this room, to complete the sophisticated style that we're trying to achieve.

Frankie's Room Remixx 2012- Boutique
Use mirrored vanities for the dressers, which you can find at places like Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Pier 1 Imports, and even Target (If you catch them on a good day)! You can also find amazing armoires at these stores as well, or even at a second hand store, and turn them into the perfect display case for your shoes, make up, jewelry or even books! I have my extravagant collection of heels on display right now in my little armoire, which I found second hand! With a little paint and some new glass shelves, I turned it into the perfect little display case that fits well with almost any room!

Then, try and find baroque style pictures frames. We just received these adorable Le Petite Baroque Picture Frames, they are smaller sure, but just the perfect accent pieces for any room. Use canvas wall art, and frame a picture of your favorite 1950's actress, we suggest Audrey or Marylin, in an amazingly elaborate baroque picture frame that you can find at either Micheal's or Hobby Lobby.

Furniture:

When it comes to your bedroom furniture, it's totally okay if you're on a budget and can't buy new furniture. All you need to do is paint. When in doubt, always paint. And if you want your old headboard to turn into something fabulous and new, buy some fabric that matches the decor and that you absolutely love, and use that to re-upholster a drab headboard. Be creative!

If you are blessed enough to be able to purchase a completely new bedroom set, then remember baroque/mid-century style!

Bedding and Linens:

Now, after all of the painting, and remodeling, and rearranging of your room, it's come time to hang the window panels and remake the bed, to complete your fabulous new Wake Up Frankie Room Make-Over!

And there you have it lovelies... Your new bedroom that's fit for any Parisian Princess! Until next time!

Don't be a Bushing Cheetah...

Blushing Cheetah
So today's DIY blog is one of my Team Frankie's Favorites! Our Blushing Cheetah Collection is a Pink Label Collection, so it's one of our higher end Collections. Made in a Soft Pink taffeta with a Black Velvet Flocked cheetah pattern, satin piping and Glamour Rhinestone buttons enclosure's, it's absolutely one of our more beautiful  collections. And I plan on showing you how to transform your room into a Sophisticated Oasis using this amazing Collection!

You know where we'll start...

Let's pick out those paint colors:
Benjamin Moore Paint: Posy Pink 2080-60/ Ebony King 2132-20
Desire: Pink Wallpaper- Graham & Brown
Now, because this Collection is predominately Pink and Black, you don't have many colors to work with. However since I, along with my entire team, love everything to do with the color pink, we see this as a dream room!

Now in our Collections picture, we decided to use black and white stripes on the wall. However I know sometimes people don't like black and white stripes, so there are plenty of different  ways to go about this. If you're a wallpaper fanatic, I suggest using Graham & Brown's Desire: Pink Wallpaper. It's not the exact same color pink, however it's a beautiful color, and a beautiful design! Plus, it'll be just the perfect amount of diversity to make the bedding pop. If for whatever reason the paper is too much, you can always use this wallpaper in a picture frame molding, like I have in my room! That way you can just have this wallpaper in pops along the walls, and you can paint all the bedroom accessories pink, and black. It's genius, and very sophisticated glam.

Bedroom Accessories...

To keep the sophisticated glam feel of this room, less is always more. However, you can make the less you do use, FABULOUS!

And for our Collection...

Here you go lovelies, our Blushing Cheetah Pink Label Collection:

Brigitte Bar-Dot is here to stay!

Good Morning Lovelies!

I hope everyone's weekend was as superb as mine was! I just love going to different Textile Trade shows. Anyway, while I was looking through different fabrics and such, gather inspiration, it hit me. My next DIY Blog should be all about my very parisian, very sexy, ultimate femme fatale Collection: Brigitte Bar-dot in Lingerie Black!

Brigitte Bar-dot (Lingerie Black)
Who couldn't love this Collection? Black and Grey polka-dot's with a soft pink touch of color is the perfect way to start any Parisian Make-Over! And here is how you start...

 Commençons par ces murs...

Of course, you must start with your paint colors:
Benjamin Moore: Pink Lace (2081-60) and Dior Gray(2133-40).

Now, for a Parisian inspired room, you have plenty of options to choose from. You could stripe the walls every other, with pink and gray. Though, I think that might be a little much with the polka-dot pattern of the bed. You could find 'lace' printed wallpaper for the room, and paint the furniture and accessories for the room the Pink and Gray, to give it some pop.

You can find lace wallpaper at stores like www.lacewallpaper.com and www.fschumacher.com. Use a black lace wallpaper for the walls. If that is too over-powering, use the wallpaper as an accent wall, (preferably the one that the headboard of your bed will be on ) and paint the other walls in the room the Grey color we've chosen.  Then use the soft pink and accents for furniture and shelving etc.

Maintenant, pour les accessoires...

Everyone knows, that the key to a perfectly done room lay in the accessories. I suggest,  Pink Canvas Arts, and painted turn of the century furniture! Again, always use a chandelier when it comes to lighting, and I personally love our Large Black Rose Beaded Chandelier

Here are a few other things we have on www.wakeupfrankie.com :
Polka Dot Rug

Et le dernier mais non le moindre ...

Until next time-

Good Tune; Song Bird...

Hello Again Lovelies!

I want to talk about one of my Collections today that is one of my absolute favorites...

My Song Bird Collection. Shabby Chic, and Fabulous, this is one I designed for all my subtle fashionista's out there. Whites, teals, and just a pop of Candy pink for flare, my Song Bird Collection is one of my personal favorites. And I plan on showing all you lovelies just how amazing this Collection can be!

Painting the Canvas...

Starting with paint colors:
Benjamin Moore: Sonoma Skies (737)/ Apple Green (2026-40)/ Country Pink (2001-60)

Now, for a Shabby Chic look, you don't have to paint the full walls. However, If you're wanting to paint the walls a full color, I suggest using the Sonoma Skies(which is a blue) and using the other two colors for accent colors. However, to achieve a classic Shabby Chic look, I would keep the walls white, and accent them. You can divide the walls using Crown Molding, which you can find at any home improvement/crafts store, as picture frames. Then within the picture framed molding, you can use the paint colors we've chosen previously and cross stitch paint the walls. It's super easy to do and a very unique idea!

Cross Stitch Paint DIY

Room Decor Decisions...

Shabby Chic Picture Frames
Now, once you've painted the walls, you'll need to find cute and unique things to fill the room with. For a awesome Shabby Chic look, why not buy some mock mid-century picture frames, and alternate painting them the three colors we've chosen, then hang them haphazardly on one wall (like a focal point. Doing this will mean you would have to only do this on that wall, and not the crown molding picture frame idea we talked about previously). You can find pictures frames like this in any hobby/crafts store as well, such as Home Goods, Pier 1 Imports, or Hobby Lobby. You can also try Thrift Stores if you're wanting vintage, or etsy.com for a more modern frame.

Other options you can use Wake Up Frankie's Lily XIV Mirror - Pink, Birds and Butterflies Canvas Art, Anais Bloom Art Panel, Butterfly Canvas Art, or the Birdcages Wall Decal.

As for furniture, you can either repaint what you have, to match the new look of your fabulous room, or you can find a Mid-Century inspired bed frame for some flare!

And now for your Bedding...

As for your fabulous Bedding.. My Songbird Collection.

And there you have it Ladies! Another fabulous room make-over using another one of my fabulous Wake Up Frankie Collections!

Until next time!
